FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Model 4300 of zNose® is a battery operated system and the battery life of it is quite long. But, the sustenance of the battery depends on its usage. The lithium ion battery which is incorporated to carry the testing procedures in an efficient manner is rechargeable and lasts for 5 to 6 hours after charging the device fully. It carries the battery pack of 28 VDC and the charger with the power of 100-127 VAC at 3 amps- 50/60 hz.

The working process of Model 4300 is very similar to the other models of zNose®. But unlike other zNose®, it uses battery and refillable internal helium cylinder. Employing a trap and helium carrier gas the Model 4300 injects samples into a heated column where separation is achieved. Materials sequentially exit the column and are deposited on the SAW detector. This deposition results in a change in the oscillating frequency of the resonator directly proportional to the mass.
